Mission Statement

Reed the People is a platform, better yet a community build on truth, justice and an unwavering commitment to a more inclusive, informed democracy.   We believe in progress grounded in truth and accountability --- where facts matter, voices of every walk of life are elevated and those misled by disinformation are met not with judgement, but with clarity and compassion.  We are the People.

We are unapologetically liberal and proudly inclusive.  Our values are rooted in equality, empathy and civic responsibility.  We advocate for bold action on the issues that shape the lives of working families, marginalized communities and they very foundations of democracy.  While our perspective is progressive, we respect honest disagreement, acknowledge the merit of common sense conservatism and welcome shared ground --- as long as it is grounded in truth.

Whether you've always stood on this side of the line or you only just begun to question what you were told, promised.  Know this:

The Best Time to Stand for Justice was yesterday.   The Second Best Time is Right Now.

To Everyone Who Still Believes the Truth Matters,

I am not here to make a name for myself.  You won't find a polished backstory or curated persona here, because that is not the point.  The truth doesn't need a hero --- it needs a voice (many voices).  That's all I want to be, a vessel, a voice for the "Rebel-lution".

Reed the People was built because I was tired of watching facts take a back seat to alternative fact based narratives and false equivalency.  Tired of media outlets prioritizing "fairness" over the truth and trading substance for spectacle.  Tired of watching working families and marginalized communities ignored and attacked while false narratives flood the airwaves.  I launched this blog not to echo noise, but to confront it.

In the spirit of transparency and the truth, I want everyone to know I write under a pen name.  Not to hide, but to protect what matters to me the most --- my family.  I am a lucky husband, proud father and the head of an interracial household that is terrified of what tomorrow could bring.  In a country this divided, privacy is a shield I've earned and carry proudly.  I served as a non-combat veteran in the United States Air Force.  I fly the American Flag proudly, on my house, in my heart and I take my oath to protect the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic.  Patriotism is not reserved for the right and its MAGA cult.

I am not a pundit or a politician.  I am a working class American who believes democracy and her freedoms are a living thing that requires our participation.  I don't care if you've voted blue for decades or just started questioning the MAGA script.  If you are here to reject disinformation, stand for the truth and push this country to live up to its promises --- you unapologetically belong here.

Reed the People isn't about me.  It is about all of us who still care.  About those brave enough to unlearn, to speak out and to show up.

So welcome.  I am not sure where this is headed, but with your help, I hope we can make a difference.  Regardless, we will be on the right side of history and I look forward to taking this journey with you.

Best Regards,

Reed Walker - An American Patriot

PS --- In the interest of transparency, I also absolutely can not stand Participation Trophies and Skinny Jeans.  But I support your right to have them.
